In the Volyn Region, SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) counter-intelligence prevented sabotage and exposed an enemy agent from the FSB RF's "sleeping reserve." He was trying to join the local, territorial defense unit.

SSU spokesman Artem Dekhtiarenko reported this news.

"According to the SSU, in his past, the Russian agent was a member of Berkut special forces unit and worked as a bodyguard for one from Ukrainian authorities. After the beginning of the Russian aggression in 2014, he ran away to Russia. But at the beginning of 2022, FSB "curators" instructed the traitor to return to Ukraine," - Dekhtyarenko reported.

Counter-intelligence of the Security Service stopped the traitor in time and prevented his sabotage. The detainee had his submachine guns, rifle, pistol, and ammunition confiscated.

"As for now, the Russian agent has been informed about the suspicion under three articles of the Criminal Code. He has been taken into custody," Dekhtyarenko said.

We should recall that on7 March 2022, in the Kirovohrad region, the police detained two people suspected of sabotage and reconnaissance activity in favor of Russia.
