The enemy has significantly reduced the pace of moving forward; its personnel are demoralized.

This news was reported by the General Staff in the report on the Russian invasion as of 18:00 on 8 March 2022.

In the eastern direction, the Allied Forces are conducting a defense operation in the Donetsk, Slobozhansk operational districts and part of the Tavriia District. The all-around defense of Mariupol continues.

In the Northern and Western directions, a defense operation is being conducted in the Polissya, Volyn, and Siversky operational districts.

The grouping of forces and means of defense of Kyiv repulses the attack and restrains the enemy, strikes him, and firmly holds the defensive lines around the city.

Military forces defined by the Armed Forces continue to defend Chernihiv.

In the South direction, the Ukrainian army defends the sea coast, Mykolaiv, and the settlements close to it.

A stabilization operation is being conducted in other areas, and territorial defense tasks are being performed.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulses concentrated missile and airstrikes, and enemy air attacks provide air cover for critical infrastructure of Ukraine and military groups.

According to available information, to compensate for losses, the enemy conducts secret mobilization presented as military training. Also, to stop the outflow of personnel, the military leadership of the RF Armed Forces decided to ban the termination of contracts for military service.

To strengthen the grouping of troops in the direction of Kyiv, the occupiers plan to transfer there up to a thousand militants from the private military company "Liga" (former PVK "Wagner").

As a violation of international humanitarian law, the occupiers hold civilians hostage, damage civilian homes, loot locals, sabotage civilian infrastructure, locate weapons and military equipment in densely populated neighborhoods, steal cars and vehicles and conduct military actions wearing civilian clothes.

As of now, the enemy has significantly reduced the pace of moving forward; its personnel are demoralized.
