On Wednesday 9 March, intelligence agencies detained the Poltava regional council deputy from "Opposition Platform For Life", the assistant to the people's deputy Ilya Kyva, the president of the Poltava regional federation of Thai boxing and the president and the head coach of the sports club "Legion" Oleh Pankratyev.
The Transcarpathian news agency GroZa news informed this in its publication.
According to the publication, Pankratyev tried to leave the country across the western border. The police detained Kyva's assistant between Khmelnytskyy and Lviv on suspicion of attempting to overthrow the government.
On 6 March, the People's Deputy Ilya Kyva came under suspicion of encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and treason.
On 24 February, Ilya Kyva, an MP from the Opposition Platform for Life, took part in a broadcast on the Russia-1 propaganda TV channel. He addressed the Russians with the words, "Ukraine needs release, and we are counting on you."
Earlier, Kyva responded to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's call for the Verkhovna Rada deputies to return to Ukraine against the background of the threat of Russian invasion. Kyva said "this is not his war", and that he will not defend Zelenskyy.
