Deloitte's international network of consulting and auditing services has exited the Russian market.
This was announced by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
“Deloitte has left Russia. It is the fourth company in the world's top four auditors to leave Russia,” - said the Minister.
The day before, the audit company Ernst & Young announced its exit from the Russian market, “Ekonomichna Pravda” reports.
The company announced the démarche following PwC, KPMG.
Those from Ernst & Young company stated that “in the light of the escalating war, the global organization EY will no longer serve any Russian government clients, state-owned enterprises or businesses and individuals under sanctions anywhere in the world.”
The firm began restructuring in order to separate the Russian member from the group. Ernst & Young's Russian staff makes up more than 1.5% of the global staff of 299,000. 700 people work in Ukraine.
As the Big Four is structured as a network of local partnerships, it means that their Russian companies will continue to exist as independent organizations under new names, and will operate freely for Russian and international customers.
In Russia, the authorities have made compliance with Western sanctions illegal, so auditors face significant penalties if they refuse contracts with government organizations.
As earlier reported, the world's largest freelance platform Upwork refused to serve Russians and Belarusians. Meanwhile, the company donated one million dollars to Direct Relief International to support the Ukrainian population and 100 thousand dollars from team members for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
