The Ukrainian authorities will discuss the wording of the country's Euro-Atlantic aspirations when negotiations on ending the war are over. This was stated by the Chairman of Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, "Interfax-Ukraina" reports.
"Since the path to Euro-Atlantic integration is included in the Constitution of Ukraine, we have a very high level of legitimacy in this area. Therefore, we will see which path the negotiators will follow and look for a model that supports the Constitution or changes this part of the Constitution," the Chairman told during the interview to 1 + 1 TV channel.
He emphasized that it is important for Ukraine that "as a result of these agreements, we first restore security and receive security guarantees for our state."
"Therefore, we will wait to see what formula will be set in the negotiation process, and, of course, we will discuss it," Stefanchuk added.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned small chances of joining NATO.
For years, we have heard about the so-called "open door". But we also have already heard that we shall not enter it (Alliance - ed.). And this is true and it must be acknowledged. So I am glad that our people are beginning to understand this and count on themselves and our partners who help us," he said.
It should be noted that in 2019 the Parliament of Ukraine amended the Constitution of Ukraine, which establishes the country's course towards full membership in the European Union and NATO.
