Pope Francis arrived at the Vatican's Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital ("Child of Jesus") on 19 March, where he visited children from Ukraine.
As of today 19 children are being treated at the hospital, and nearly 50 children have received medical care at the facility since the beginning of the war, according to the Vatican News.
"There are patients with various conditions (cancer, neurological disorders, etc.) who fled in the first days of the war, as well as children who arrived recently with severe injuries," the newspaper writes.
"The pope visited all children at the hospital before returning to the Vatican", - the Vatican’s press release said.
