Russia continues to use former US soldiers to spread misinformation about Ukraine around the world, the Center against Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has said.
Former US Army officer David Payne has cooperated with the Kremlin for many years. During Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, he spread the following information in foreign media: "The West should stop supplying weapons to Ukraine not to provoke Russia to even more aggression," and "Ukraine has to surrender Crimea and Donbas to avoid World War III."
Payne also misinformed the world that NATO may exclude Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia from the Alliance.
"All these statements have nothing to do with reality. For years, the Kremlin has been creating its propaganda campaign to discredit the civilized world by bribing and recruiting even Western officials, ”the Center against Disinformation said.
Please be careful and carefully check all information, even the information spread by foreign media, the Center pointed out.
Please be reminded that the National Security and Defense Council confirmed yesterday that the Russian army planned to burn in mobile crematoria not bodies of its soldiers but the killed civilians to hide the evidence of war crimes.
