More than 10,000 civilians have died in Mariupol during the six weeks of Russian blockade and constant enemy shelling. The bodies of the victims are literally paving the streets, Mayor Vadym Boychenko told the Associated Press.
According to Boychenko, the death toll may exceed 20,000 people. The Russian occupiers collect the bodies and store them in the shopping center, in refrigerators.
Russian enemy also uses mobile crematoria equipped in trucks. They burn the dead Ukrainians in them.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Armed Forces needed more weapons, planes, and armored vehicles were necessary to liberate Ukrainian cities, including Mariupol, from the Russian occupiers.
Last night, the Azov Regiment, which is defending Mariupol together with the Marines, reported that at about 9:30 pm, the Russian occupiers used a poisonous substance of unknown origin against the Ukrainian military and civilians in Mariupol.
According to the regiment's founder Andriy Biletsky, three fighters were injured. The attack was at the Azovstal plant.
The United States has not yet confirmed the data on the chemical attack. Britain is also checking the data.
