Units of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Counter Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky broke through to join the Azov Regiment, which defends Mariupol.
Oleksiy Arestovych, the adviser to the Head of the President's Office, informed about this.
"In Mariupol, units of the 36th Marine Brigade broke through to join the Azov Regiment, which professionally arranged this action, as a result of a difficult and very risky maneuver," he informed on Facebook on the morning of April 13.
Arestovych mentioned that Azov received significant reinforcements, and the 36th Brigade escaped defeat of separated groups of soldiers and received additional serious opportunities, in fact, got a second chance.
"Defenders of the city, now together, have seriously strengthened their defense area. In general, the city's defense system has grown and strengthened," - the adviser to the Head of the Office of the President said.
According to the operative data of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy continued air attacks on Mariupol. The Russian army is conducting an offensive near the Azovstal metallurgical plant and the seaport.
The night before, Mykhailo Podoliak, another adviser to the Head of the Office of the President, commented the issue of munitions problems among Mariupol defenders. He assured that the military and political leadership of the country monitored the situation in real time and had more information than it was known from social networks. Podoliak pointed out that the Government could not communicate plans and actions publicly to avoid informing the enemy.
