Stellantis has stopped assembling in russia "due to the growing threat of cross-sanctions and logistical problems." Opel, Citroen, and Peugeot cars were assembled at the Stellantis plant near Kaluga.

The shutdown means that there are currently only two fully operational car assembly plants in Russia: UAZ and China's Haval, according to The Bell.

According to the "Avtostat" portal, only four plants continue to produce cars in russia, including Mazda Sollers (a joint venture between UAZ and Japan's Mazda) and Avtotor (which makes Korean Kia and Hyundai but no longer produces BMW).

In late March, Carlos Tavares, the company's general manager, said that the plant in Kaluga would have to suspend operations due to a lack of spare parts.

Earlier today, the manufacturer of household chemicals, the German company Henkel announced its withdrawal from the russian market.
