The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has released a situation report on the Russian invasion as of 06.00 on 21 April 2022.
The enemy is trying to continue offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone to establish complete control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The russians continue to launch missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure over the whole territory of Ukraine.
In the Volyn, Polissia, and Siversk directions, the russian enemy did not take active actions, and no changes in the condition and position of its forces were detected.
In the Slobozhanshchyna direction, the enemy continues to work on the system of technical support.
In Balakleia, russians started to put their wounded soldiers in the city outpatients' clinic, even though a hospital for the russian servicemen was set up in the building of the local music school. The fact that the russian occupiers are staying in the city outpatients' clinic means that the number of wounded is increasing, and there are problems with medical evacuation.
The enemy continues to block Kharkiv partially and shell the city.
In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the enemy continues to conduct artillery rounds along the entire line of contact.
In the Kherson region, the russian invaders plan to organize the forced mobilization of the population for war with Ukraine. At the same time, the occupiers set a goal to stop the humanitarian support of the region from the Ukrainian authorities completely. The terror of the population continues.
Thus, in the village of Zolota Balka, Kherson region, the representatives of the russian occupation forces held a meeting with the local population, where they stated that there would be no more "green corridors" [humanitarian corridors] and forbade people to leave the place. In addition, they warned that if the Armed Forces of Ukraine units shelled their positions, the russian invaders would start shelling the village. The occupiers continue to check the houses and conduct searches.
In the Pivdennyi Buh direction, the russian enemy is shelling the positions of our troops.
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit four air targets during the day: three unmanned aerial vehicles and one cruise missile.
Nine russian attacks were repulsed in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions over the past 24 hours; one tank, ten armored military vehicles, two military vehicles, one artillery system, two units of special engineering equipment, one anti-aircraft missile system, and one enemy ammunition depot were destroyed.
According to intelligence, occupiers received the order to kill all Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Popasna area.
