US President Joe Biden is extremely pained over the destruction and civilian casualties in Ukraine and mourns the suffering and death of Russian military aggression, stated at a briefing by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, Ukrinform reports.
"The president is processing these images the way many Americans do - with horror, sadness, fear for the people of Ukraine, families, children, and civilians who are at risk. Obviously, this conflict consumes a great deal of his time," she said.
Psaki also noted that information from Ukraine "cannot be treated with indifference."
"It is emotional, and watching some of these images is very raw for people, including the president, because you're seeing people suffering at the hands of a dictator who is brutally targeting civilians," the White House spokeswoman added.
Earlier, Psaki said that the White House doesn't consider the possibility of Biden's visit to Kyiv. According to American media, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken or Pentagon Chairman Lloyd Austin may be visiting Ukraine. The visit of Vice President Kamala Harris is also not on the table.
