During a working visit to Washington, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the United States Congress members. He called for joint efforts of partners to help Ukrainians, reports the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The parties focused on crucial issues: arms supplies and financial support to Ukraine and further sanctions against russia.
"Ukraine needs financial assistance to support internally displaced persons and migrants and demine our territories. We must also support people who stay in combat zones or close to them. We need to consolidate partners' efforts to help them," Shmyhal said.
He stressed that Ukraine feels significant support from the United States. At the same time, it is necessary to increase sanctions pressure on russia to force it to end the war and dissuade it from creating crises in democracies.
The Prime Minister thanked Pelosi for her consistent support of Ukraine during the eight years of the war and for understanding the problems and challenges facing our country.
Recently, the Ministry of Finance of the USA expanded the list of citizens and the companies of the russian federation that fall under sanctions.
