Kazakhstan sends 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

It is the eighth lorry with humanitarian aid; Kazakh volunteers have already collected almost 200 tons of such assistance.

Kazakhstan sends 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The Humanitarian Support Headquarters of Ukraine in Kazakhstan has sent another cargo - 20 tons of humanitarian aid - to our country.

This was reported at the Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan.

The cargo includes personal hygiene and food products. Volunteers collected and sent Ukraine almost 200 tons of humanitarian aid.

"Five of the eight lorries have already arrived in Ukraine; the aid they carried was distributed to the regions in need. Two lorries are still on the way, and finally, the eighth one was sent today," - said Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Petro Vrublevskyi.

Earlier, eight airplanes with humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan people and three more from the country's government were sent to Ukraine.

The embassy says that the lorries with humanitarian aid travel through Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Romania. It takes about two weeks to arrive in Ukraine. On the territory of Ukraine, the aid is stored in large hubs. For example, this lorry will go to Vinnytsia.

According to the Ukrainian embassy, humanitarian aid collection points operate in 11 regions of Kazakhstan: Karahanda, Uralsk, Semey, Ust-Kamenohorsk, Aktau, Turkestan, Atyrau, Ekibastuh, Aktobe, Almaty, and Nur-Sultan.

At the beginning of March, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, discussed the security situation in the region and agreed to cooperate on humanitarian issues.
