Legendary cyclist Jan Ullrich held a charity auction to sell a bicycle on which the German raced in the Tour de France-1998, reports Bild.
All collected 40.1 thousand euros were sent by a 48-year-old native of East German Rostock to the foundation "Heart for Children", through which medicine, food and other essentials for Ukrainian refugee children will be purchased.
Ulrich is the winner of the "Grand Loop-1997" and "Vuelta a España-1999".
As an amateur, the German was Olympic champion-2000 in the group race and three times world champion (in 1999 and 2001 in the individual race, in 1993 in the group race)
