Latvia sends humanitarian aid package to Ukraine

The cargo, worth over 2 million euro, contains food, including children food, hygiene products, household items, hospital equipment, as well as IT-equipment.

Latvia has sent a humanitarian aid package to Ukraine, which has been gathered by its citizens together with the entrepreneurs and the charity organization Ziedot.lv. 

It has been reported by the Parliamentary Secretary of the MFA of Latvia Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica.

“Sensitiveness, contribution, and work of our people help the miracles to happen and allow many people in Ukraine to get the necessary help,” Kalniņa-Lukaševica has noted.

Ziedot.lv, in cooperation with the Latvian MFA, has shipped the aid into Kherson, Zakarpattia, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv Oblasts, as well as to Kramatorsk. In the cargo are household and necessity items, hygiene products, food, including children food, as well as cargos for several hospitals and IT-equipment.

The leadership of the digital game and software company Epic Games has transferred all the revenues from the game “Fortnite” from March 20 till April 3, for the humanitarian aid for Ukrainians.

Two rapid response teams of the Red Cross have visited the villages in Kyiv region, freed from the russian occupiers, on April 7.
