The European Commission will allocate 1bn euros to support Ukraine and countries that host Ukrainian refugees. This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Reuters reports.
"600m euros of the financial support will be allocated to Ukraine, to the Ukrainian government and partly to the UN," von der Leyen said at the Stand Up For Ukraine fundraising event for Ukraine in Warsaw.
"And another 400m euros will go to the border states, which are doing such an outstanding job and helping arriving refugees," she said.
The charity event Stand Up For Ukraine took place in Poland today, during which European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she could not find the words to describe the horror she saw in Bucha during a visit to Ukraine the day before.
