The European Union, in accordance with the fifth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, banned the import and transit of new cargo by vehicles from Russia and Belarus to the EU territory starting from April 9. This is stated in the description of sanctions on the EU website.

The Customs Service of Russia reported on the closure of the borders for the russian and Belarusian cargo transport.

Besides, the EU enforces a total ban on the crossing of the EU border by these trucks from April 16. All vans from these two countries have to leave the territory of the European Union.

We would like to remind you that on April 8 the third package of EU sanctions against Russia took effect, which, among other things, forbids road transport operators from Russia and Belarus and others to transport their cargo through EU territory. Exceptions were made for medical and food products, as well as for vehicles with humanitarian purposes and vehicles engaged in postal services.
