Germany and Great Britain have promised to send Ukraine more weaponry and to pressure russia together, by implementing tighter sanctions.

This has been declared by the Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson and the Federal Chancellor of the FRG after the conclusion of the negotiations in London, reports CNN.

Specifically, Boris Johnson has stated that Great Britain will additionally send weaponry to Ukraine, worth 100 million pounds, including the modern anti-tank complexes and MPADS.

“The UK will send a further £100 million worth of high-grade equipment to Ukraine's Armed Forces, including more Starstreak anti-aircraft missiles, which fire at three times the speed of sound, another 800 anti-tank missiles and precision munitions capable of lingering in the sky directly to their target. We will also send more helmets, night vision and body armour on top of the 200,000 pieces of non-lethal military equipment the UK has already dispatched,” Johnson has said.

Olaf Scholz has said that Germany will continue its deliveries to Kyiv, although he has not clarified of which kind and volume.

The government heads have also stated that they will cooperate in the area of energy security and renewable energy sources, since Europe aims to gradually reduce its dependence from russian energy sources.

“We cannot transform our respective energy systems overnight. But we also know that Putin's war will not end overnight," Boris Johnson has said.

“We want to get fossil fuel not from russia. We work very insistently to make it happen.”

Today, the fifth EU sanctions package again has come into force. It includes embargo for the deliveries of russian coal, but the EU countries could not agree about giving up on russian oil.
