Ukraine intel: russian mobilization marked by mass refusals, self-mutilation, dodged interviews

Mobilization in russia doesn’t have good results. On the contrary, mass refusals were recorded, as well as self-mutilation and trying to avoid conscription.

The Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.

"A Special Purpose Military Unit of russia with experience in hostilities in Syria has refused to take part in further attempts to storm Mariupol. In the battles against the Armed Forces of Ukraine from 2 to 4 April, this unit lost about 30 servicemen. Therefore, the unit decided not to try its luck in the future," Ukrainian intelligence said.

Recent data on selection for military service in russia show a low level of interest in contract service.

"According to the report on the results of recruitment in the city of Ekaterinburg, less than 1% of the citizens in the reserves agreed even to talk about the possibility of signing a contract," the Chief Directorate of Intelligence said.

Of the 397 candidates, only two agreed to come for an interview. 203 did not get in touch, and 52 people refused. Another 140 candidates are in the "processing process".

Ukrainian intelligence stressed that the mobilized russians have extremely low morale.

"On 7 March, two PAZ buses with wounded russian servicemen were sent from the Novoaydar Polyclinic in the direction of Luhansk. It is noted that the vast majority of them have leg injuries. According to doctors, the most probable cause of these injuries is self-mutilation in order to avoid returning to the combat zone," the Chief Directorate of Intelligence said.

In late March, the intelligence chief of one of the divisions of the russian army submitted a report on his dismissal due to the huge losses of the occupiers. He accused his commander of ignoring all available intelligence about the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recently, Ukrainian intelligence reported that civilian personnel in the russian army were complaining about falling wages and that trade unions were threatening to sue. Russia has also begun to increase censorship in its army, as its soldiers learn the truth from Ukraine via the Internet.
