On the morning of April 9 in Chornomorsk, south of Odesa, an explosion was heard. The mayor, Vasyl Huliaev, reported on Telegram that there was no reason for panic.
“The situation is under control. Yes, there was an explosion. But it’s nothing serious now; the main thing is not to panic because panic is the worst right now,” he said.
Huliaev promised that he would provide details as soon as the authorities and military figured out the situation.
There is a prolonged curfew in the Odessa region this weekend. People are not allowed to be on the streets or in other public places during this period without specially issued permits and certificates.
