Russian forces are regrouping in the east of Ukraine and plan to advance towards Kharkiv, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Major-General Kyrylo Budanov, said during his CNN interview

“They are regrouping in the direction of the town of Izium through Belgorod. They are moving through Belgorod. They will take additional forces in Belgorod to compensate for their losses in Ukraine,” he said.

Budanov also noted that the russian military would primarily try to attack Kharkiv.

“Primarily, they are planning to advance towards Kharkiv. They will try to finish off Mariupol, and only then can they try to advance towards Kyiv actively,” he added.

Budanov emphasized that the weaknesses of russian army were displayed in Ukraine. According to him, the occupiers failed near Kyiv; the logistics hindered their military efforts.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 80% of some occupiers’ units refuse to return to the war in Ukraine.
