The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met with the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, who is in Ukraine now.

"The Head of State thanked the Slovak people and personally the Head of the Slovak government for supporting Ukraine and providing real assistance like weapons that during the russian invasion strengthen our country's defense capabilities," - says the statement.

"I want to thank the Slovak people and the Slovak Prime Minister not for the future, but the present, for things they do for us during the war. They are fully supporting us, our position, condemning the aggression of the russian federation not only in words but also in deeds "- the press service quotes the words of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Also, during today's visit of Eduard Heger to Kyiv, the Prime Minister of Slovakia had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal; they discussed many important issues for the future of our state.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Slovakia for supporting Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to russia's military invasion.

For his part, the Prime Minister of Slovakia thanked the President and the citizens of Ukraine who are fighting for the ideals of freedom and democracy, defending European values.

Eduard Heger noted that the Slovak Republic would continue to assist Ukraine because the success in our country's struggle is a success for the whole of Europe. Particularly, he focused on the defense support of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Slovakia also emphasized the importance of establishing a fund for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

Slovakia has officially confirmed the transfer of the S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine.
