Slovenia will provide Ukraine with a large number of tanks, according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Instead, the country will receive a Marder infantry fighting vehicle and a Fuchs wheeled armored vehicle from Germany.
The T-72 is actively used by the Ukrainian army and does not require additional training.
According to the article, Slovenia also requested more modern equipment from Germany as compensation. The list includes the German Leopard 2 battle tank, the Boxer wheeled tank and the Puma infantry fighting vehicle.
At the same time, on April 21, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht confirmed that her country was organizing training for Ukrainian soldiers on 155-mm self-propelled howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000.
According to Lambrecht, this is one of the ways to support Ukraine.
Lithuania also handed over heavy mortars to Ukraine. According to media reports, the German Ministry of Defense, at the request of the Chancellery, removed all heavy weapons from the list of requests provided by Ukraine, although German industry is ready to deliver it in the short and medium term.
