Russians are trying to storm Popasna - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces released operational information on the russian invasion as of 6 am on April 25.

The enemy is conducting offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone to defeat the Joint forces, establish full control over the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and secure a land route between these territories and the occupied territories of Crimea.

In the Volyn, Polissya, and Sieversky directions, the enemy did not take active action. No significant changes in the position and activities of enemy units at the Ukrainian-belarusian and Ukrainian-russian sections of the state border of Ukraine were detected.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the russian occupiers continue shelling with artillery and rocket-propelled grenade launchers the settlements of Kharkiv, Karasivka, Prudyanka, and Korobochkino.

In the directions of Izyum - Barvinkove - Slovyansk, the enemy tried to carry out assault operations but failed. It carried out shelling in the areas of the settlements of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Vernopillya, and Nova Dmytrivka.

In the Donetsk and Tavriya directions, the enemy carried out artillery shelling of the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the city of Mariupol, the enemy launched missile and bomb strikes on the positions of our military at Azovstal. It conducts assault operations at the village of Popasna.

In the South Bug direction, the enemy fired at the positions of Ukrainian troops in the settlements of Knyazivka and Mykolayivka.

Ukraine's defense forces inflict heavy losses on the enemy. In the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts alone, seven enemy attacks have been repulsed in the past 24 hours; thirteen tanks, three artillery systems, seventeen armored vehicles, four armored combat vehicles, and eighteen vehicles and four tankers have been destroyed.

Air defense units shot down three Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles in the area.
