The russian army may intend to surround the well-fortified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in eastern Ukraine.
This is stated in a statement by the British Ministry of Defense, citing data from its intelligence.

"The city of Kreminna has reportedly fallen and heavy fighting is reported south of Izium, as russian forces attempt to advance to the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk from the north and east," the statement reads.
In addition, Ukrainian forces are preparing to defend Zaporizhzhia, waiting for a possible attack by russia from the south.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled six attacks by russian army in Donbas. Ukrainian Air Forces struck ten air targets.
