On 27 April 2022, late at night, one heard the sounds of explosions in Kherson, occupied by russian troops, informs the Ukraine 24 media.

Russian news agency RIA Novosti reports the number of strong explosions in the city center, next to the TV center.

The journalists of the russian news agency say as least two Tochka-U missiles and several Uragan rockets hit the center of Kherson.

As usual, russians accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the shelling of the Ukrainian cities.

Earlier that day, the russians bombarded the participants of the anti-occupation protests in Kherson with flash-bang grenades. There are four wounded people at least.

There were not so many people at the protests. They shouted out: “Kherson is Ukraine”.

Earlier, in the occupied building of the Kherson City Council the occupiers and collaborators had a meeting during which they presented so-called heads of the oblast state administration and the city administration – Volodymyr Saldo and Oleksandr Kobets respectively.

The russian troops occupied Kherson on 2 March 2022. After that the city witnessed regular meetings in support of Ukraine. During the protests, the russian soldiers did not hesitate to apply arms against the armless dwellers of Kherson.

There were also protests in Nova Kakhovka where the occupiers opened fire at the Ukrainians.

The occupiers announced that they were going to organize a “referendum” about the creation of the so-called “Kherson People Republic” in occupied Kherson. Firstly, it was planned for the period from 1 May to 10 May 2022, and then it was moved to 27 April 2022.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned the russian side that Ukraine would leave the negotiations if any “referendum” in Kherson. After that, the ministry of foreign affairs of russia said they “had no idea” about the prepared “referendum” in the city.
