As of the morning of 28 April 2022, the enemy is continuing offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone to establish complete control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintain a ground corridor to the temporarily occupied Crimea. The General Staff reported this.

"The enemy is increasing the pace of the offensive operation. In almost all areas, the russian occupiers are firing intensively. The greatest combat activity is observed in the Slobozhansk and Donetsk areas," - says the statement.

No significant changes in the activities of enemy units were noted in the Volyn and Polissia areas.

"By keeping the necessary set of troops, the russian enemy is trying to ensure that the reserve units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stay in the Siversk area and do not move to the Eastern Operational Zone," - says the statement.

In the Slobozhanshchyna area, the russian enemy grouping continues firing for effect with artillery on Kharkiv.

The primary efforts of the russian occupiers are focused on the Izium area. They are trying to initiate an offensive in the directions of Sulyhivka - Nova Dmytrivka and Andriivka - Velyka Komyshuvakha.

To strengthen the strike force, the russian occupiers also moved airborne units to the city of Izium and up to 500 units of military vehicles and equipment.

In the Donetsk area, the enemy group continues to take active action on the confrontation line. The russians focus their primary efforts on surrounding the Ukraine Defense Forces.

In order to achieve this goal, the russians have improved their tactical position in the Lyman direction; they are trying to develop an offensive on the town of Lyman. The invaders are preparing to force the Siverskyi Donets River.

In the Sievierodonetsk area, the russians are attacking the municipality of Orikhove.

In the Avdiivka area, the russian enemy is firing intensively to take control over Mar'inka and Ocheretin.

In the Kurakhiv area, the occupiers are conducting an offensive in the directions of Staromayorske - Velyka Novosilka and Lyubymivka - Zelene Pole using artillery support.

"In the Tavriya area, the russian enemy units continue to conduct demonstration actions and maneuvers to mislead and prevent the transfer of our troops to other areas," - informed the General Staff.

The russians continue to use the Melitopol airfield as the base and flight support of Su-25 attack aircraft, Ka-52 attack helicopters, and Mi-8 transport and combat helicopters.

In the Pivdennyi Buh area, the enemy focuses its forces on the Kherson-Mykolayiv and Kherson-Kryvyi Rih directions.

As a result of the assault operation, the russians secured their positions in the area of the municipality of Tavriyske and are trying to fire on the positions of our troops in the areas of the municipalities Oleksandrivka and Nova Zoria. In addition, the enemy is building up multiple launch rocket systems and barrel artillery units in the areas of municipalities Stanislav and Molodetske.

To adjust the fire and assess its results, the russian enemy conducted air reconnaissance in the area of the municipality of Zatoka.

During the previous day, SAM units of the Air Forces and the Ground Forces hit eight air targets: one aircraft, one cruise missile, and six UAVs of operational and tactical level.

The russian occupiers continue to suffer losses on the ground as well. In the Donetsk and Luhansk regions alone, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fought back six enemy attacks in the last 24 hours; five tanks, one artillery system, twenty-two armored vehicles, one military vehicle, and one anti-aircraft gun were destroyed.
