The check for mines in the territory of Chernobyl NPP is completed. This was reported in the press service of the company.
The work lasted for several days. The inspection was carried out by soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine. Specialists in radiochemical protection of the SES were involved in the work as well.
"During the demining, the Chernobyl site, the station's external facilities, its life support facilities and the railway track were inspected and secured. After this inspection, the station staff will be able to work safely at their workplaces and on the site as a whole," said Alexander Break, the head of physical protection at Chernobyl NPP.
We will remind, that on February 24 the russian troops entered the Chernobyl zone from Belarus. After a fierce battle, the Ukrainian military lost control of the nuclear power plant. Ukrainian intelligence later reported that russia was preparing provocations at the Chernobyl NPP, which could affect not only Ukraine but also Europe.
On March 31, the occupants left the Chernobyl NPP, signing the "Act of Acceptance and Transfer of Protection" of the station, and also captured Ukrainian National Guardsmen. On April 5, units of the National Guard of Ukraine arrived at the Chernobyl NPP and took the object under protection.
