Ukraine is changing its vision of victory in the current war. Now it is seen not as the withdrawal of russian troops to the position until February 24, 2022, but as the complete liberation of all Ukrainian territories, - stated by the Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with the Financial Times, published on Tuesday, May 10.

According to him, if the Western allies quickly provide the promised heavy weapons, Ukraine will be able to completely displace russian troops.

"In the first months of the war, victory for us looked like withdrawing russian troops to positions they had held until February 24 and paying for the damage. Now, if we are strong enough on the military front and win the battle for Donbas, that will be crucial for the next dynamics of the war, of course, the victory for us in this war will be the liberation of our other territories,"- BBC-Ukraine quotes Kuleba’s words.

The Foreign Minister stated that only russia's defeat in this war will allow Ukraine to reopen its Black Sea ports and restore its export economy.

"If Kyiv receives even more military support, we will be able to push them back from the Kherson region, defeat the Black Sea Fleet and unblock the corridor," the foreign minister said.

At the same time, he acknowledged that in case of heavy bloodshed, a settlement will have to be held, and Kyiv would like to approach this point "with the strongest cards."
