The russian occupiers are preventing evacuations from the temporarily occupied Kherson region.
This was announced at a briefing by the Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration (RMA) Hennadiy Lahuta, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"There is a problem with the departure of people. For the fifth day in a row, there is a column towards the city of Beryslav, Davydiv Brid… towards Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. This is the only way for people to enter the unoccupied territory," Lahuta said.
According to him, the occupiers did not provide any humanitarian green corridor for the import of food and medicine, or for the export of people - the evacuation of orphanages, boarding schools, the evacuation of the elderly, and the sick.
The Head of the RMA emphasized that the russian occupiers had artificially created a food crisis. The food they import from the temporarily occupied Crimea is in short supply, and they do not allow Ukrainian volunteers in.
Lahuta also said that Ukrainian activists and bloggers are being abducted and detained in the occupied territories.
"Information about the arbitrariness committed by the occupiers is being recorded, will be investigated, and the perpetrators will be punished after the de-occupation of the Kherson region and its complete liberation," the head of the RMA said.
Laрuta told that he and his team manage the region remotely - from Mykolaiv and Kryvyi Rih (Lahuta himself is in Mykolaiv - Ed.). He also said that residents receive all social benefits on time.
From the first days of the full-scale war of russia against Ukraine, the Kherson region except for three territorial communities near the Dnipropetrovsk region has been occupied.
On 12 May, the occupiers fired on a convoy of refugees from the Kherson region moving near Bila Krynytsia.
