A one-day conference entitled "Time to Decide for Europe" has started in Vienna, Austria, to address the problems of the war in Europe, meaning russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine and the post-war reconstruction of our country. This event is organized with the support of the ERSTE Foundation and the Institute of Humanities (IWM).
They "invited the brightest minds to initiate discussing the complex issues facing Europe today and the answers that will determine the future."
There are five critical issues of the event:
How to rebuild Ukraine after the war?
What lessons can we learn from the Balkans?
Is it the time of Central Europe in Europe?
How will the European Union be transformed?
What will be the future of Russia?
In the context of the war waged by russia and the future of Ukraine, the organizers plan to raise the following issues:
"What are the historical and intellectual roots of Ukraine's "European choice"? How is the war changing Ukraine's relations with Europe? How to rebuild Ukraine after the war? Should Ukraine be granted EU membership, or another formula for cooperation with the EU ought to found? What should be the security architecture of Ukraine? What will happen to millions of refugees? How will Ukraine's potential membership in the European Union change the EU?"
The President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, Harvard University professor Serhiy Plohiy, former Deputy Prime Minister of Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, the Head of European Stability Initiative (ESI) in Berlin Gerald Knaus and others will take part in the conference.
