The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, had a meeting with the Holy See Secretary for Relations with States in Kyiv Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher.
The press service of the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) reported this information.
"Today, it was a pleasure to welcome in Kyiv the Holy See Secretary for Relations with States, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher. I appreciate the Archbishop's visit to the suburbs of Kyiv, where people have suffered horrific atrocities from russia," - says the statement.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, added that Ukraine is grateful to Pope Francis for his prayers and looks forward to his visit.
In April, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Vatican Andriy Yurash presented his credentials to Pope Francis. The diplomat also spoke with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin and thanked the Holy See for supporting Ukraine.
