Among those abducted by the occupiers are local authorities, heads of amalgamated communities, priests, former participants of the Anti-Terrorist Operation and Joint Forces Operation (JFO), journalists, and other civilians.
"The russian occupiers intimidate, blackmail and torture kidnaped people in the so-called "basements." There are cases when russians take the abducted citizens to the territory of Crimea," - said Lahuta.
He added that the occupiers break into private homes and conduct illegal searches.
The Head of the Kherson RMA noted that the russian military had abducted about ten leaders of amalgamated communities. Most of them have been released, but the location of the Hola Prystan City Mayor has been unknown for a month now.
Earlier it was reported that the secretary of the city council of Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson region, Dmytro Vasiyliev, was released after 46 days of russian captivity. On 2 May 2022, it became known that the russian military had abducted the Head of the Chornobaivka amalgamated community, Ihor Dudar, and his deputy.
