Ukraine receives ground-based launchers and a corresponding number of Harpoon anti-ship missiles.
This was announced on Facebook by Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
“Some reports have already been in the press, I just confirm that my communication with colleagues - the defence ministers of some friendly countries, including Denmark. I can say that we will get Harpoon - these are special means of destruction, which are launched from ships”, - Reznikov explained.
But Ukraine will be sent Harpoon land-to-air missile launchers. The latest weapons are provided by Denmark, Great Britain and the Netherlands, and other countries will join this process.
“And these “toys” will be set up to defeat the naval component of our enemy in the Black Sea so that we can finally establish freedom of navigation. We are waiting for other ships to follow the cruiser “Moskva” to the bottom of the Black Sea,” said Reznikov.
It will be recalled that after a meeting of defense ministers of several dozen countries, Pentagon President Lloyd Austin announced new aid packages to Ukraine. In particular, Denmark has agreed to provide Harpoon launchers and missiles for them, designed to protect the coast.
The media also reported that the United Kingdom is coordinating with its allies on a potential plan to send warships to the Black Sea to accompany ships exporting Ukrainian grain.
