The Czech government will soon consider a project to further support Ukraine with weapons.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the country Jana Chernohova on Czech television, Polish Radio reports.
"It is important that the assistance is continuous. At the next government meeting, I prepared proposals for armaments worth about 600-700 million kroons (about $ 3 million, ed.), ”Said the Czech minister.
Chernokhova said that the Czech Republic also supplies Ukraine with heavy weapons. However, she did not confirm the information of the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin about the combat helicopters allegedly delivered to Kyiv by Prague.
"The media also previously reported on the supply of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, howitzers and missiles. The Czech Ministry of Defence, citing security considerations, has not yet confirmed this information, "the statement said.
In addition to state support, Czech defense companies donated equipment worth about 17 million kroons to Ukraine.
The arms collection announced by the Ukrainian embassy in Prague has so far brought in almost 1.2 billion kroons.
The Wall Street Journal with reference to the Pentagon previously reported that the Czech Republic handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine attack helicopters.
