The United States will take all the necessary steps “in the coming days” regarding announcing and dispatching new kinds of weapons to Ukraine within a new aid package adopted by the Congress and approved by the President of the U.S. “Ukrinform” reported that citing the U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price.

“We have to keep strengthening Ukraine’s ability to defend itself in the face of the kremlin’s cruel aggression, and we will have more [to announce – ed.] in these terms in the coming days,” – the State Department spokesperson noted.

Price recalled that the US administration has around 40bn dollars at its disposal, most of it “meant for the defence assistance of our Ukrainian partners”.

The State Department’s spokesperson commented on Joe Biden’s last statement that the US administration doesn’t plan to provide Ukraine with the long-range missiles for potential striking at russia's territory.

“We keep considering [providing Ukraine with – ed.] the whole list of systems that will have the potential to be effectively used on the battlefield by our Ukrainian partners. But what the President emphasized was that we will not supply long-range missiles for their usage outside the battlefield in Ukraine,” – Price mentioned.

He stressed that every element of the US’ defence assistance for Ukraine is designed to achieve specific goals.

It has become known previously that the US will supply long-range multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine after all but they will not be able to shoot deep into russia’s territory. Afterward, the Deputy Head of the Office of the president of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva called on Spain and other international partners to help Ukraine with the necessary weapons to defend Europe’s security as soon as possible, and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine wanted to preserve as many lives as possible while liberating the territories occupied by russians, that’s why it would wait for the necessary weapons.
