A second filtration prison was discovered in Mariupol on the basis of the former Volnovakha Correctional Colony № 120. Ukrainians are held here until sentencing or filtration.
The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko reported about it.
"Earlier we reported on the first filtration prison in the village of Olenivka on the basis of the former Yenakiyevo penal colony №52. It is here that former law enforcement officers, pro-Ukrainian activists and journalists are being held. According to the information, this is where "unreliable" people are kept before sentencing or filtering. Those who simply turned out to be suspicious and do not belong to the above categories," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Andryushchenko noted that more than 20 volunteers, who helped to evacuate Mariupol residents, are being held in this prison.
"That is, there are two filtration prisons in Olenivka, not one. Both were empty as of February 24, 2022. An interesting fact about volunteers. Almost all of them received certificates from the Red Cross of Ukraine. It is now clear why the so-called DNR has launched a program to discredit the Red Cross. To avoid accusations of arresting their volunteers. They’re simply scum," the mayor's adviser added.
Earlier Andryushchenko told about filtration prisons near Mariupol where there are people who didn't pass filtration. He said that the "unreliable" were taken to the premises of the former G52 penal colony in the village of Olenivka, Donetsk region (the territory has been occupied since 2014) or to the Isolation prison in Donetsk.
