President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at a video presentation of the United24 platform in Washington, reported by the Office of the President.
Zelenskyy stressed that the russian army is trying not only to kill as many people as possible, but also to destroy all the infrastructure necessary for life. The President said that after the russian military invasion in Ukraine there are ruins, burned cities, universities and maternity homes purposefully destroyed by missiles. However, people need to have a place to return today.
"That's why I initiated the creation of a special platform - United24. This is not just fundraising. This is one of the opportunities to prove to russia that evil can not win," - said Zelenskyy.
Thousands of infrastructure are in need of rehabilitation. Zelenskyy told the Americans that they could join in the aid. Everyone can choose how: to rebuild the bridge to Irpen or to buy equipment that will save the lives of the wounded.
In early May the head of state initiated the launch of the United24 fundraising platform, which aims to increase charitable donations in support of Ukraine in the world. United24 fundraising platform works in three areas: defense and demining, medical care, reconstruction of Ukraine.
During the first week of its operation, more than $25 million was collected in the National Bank of Ukraine accounts. Anyone can contribute in one click on u24.gov.ua site. Corporate donors also have the opportunity to choose targeted assistance - to provide hospital equipment, rebuild critical infrastructure, purchase military equipment, and more. This opportunity will soon be available to a wide audience.
With the support of United24 there will be charity events and concerts, partnership projects with well-known brands, as well as cooperation with opinion leaders.
On May 18, Zelenskyy signed a decree establishing the national brand United24.
