Newly appointed US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink visited Borodyanka in Kyiv Region, which was liberated from russian occupation.
This is stated on her Twitter.
“Borodyanka has suffered horribly. Bearing witness to atrocities committed in russia’s brutal war, including families killed in their own homes”, – it is said in the message.
According to Brink, it only strengthens her resolve to do everything possible to hold the perpetrators of these awful crimes to account.
It will be recalled that Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova visited Borodyanka on May 31 during her official visit.
Borodyanka of Bucha district has been captured by the russians since the first days of the war. The enemy razed it to the ground, striking with a variety of weapons. During the occupation, russian troops did not allow the opening of green corridors for the evacuation of civilians.
On April 1, Borodyanka was released. After clearing the territories of the Kyiv region, the scale of the atrocities they committed against civilians became clear. To children, women, the elderly, men - all without exception.
Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova noted that the worst situation with the victims of russian war crimes in Kyiv region was in Borodyanka.
