Almost two dozen residents from the occupied Kherson region tried to break through to the territory controlled by Ukraine, according to "Public".
The invaders released only 11 people.
The transition took place across the front line near the village of Vysokopillia.
According to local activist Yuriy Samokhvalov, people were provided with humanitarian aid and taken to safety.
"The most impressive is the view of those who come out - they are so accustomed to explosions and danger that when they get to a safe place it is obvious to eyes how much they feel the dissonance between "there" and "here," said Samokhvalov.
In the region, the russian military are disguising in the uniform of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and going into houses of residents to identify the Ukrainian activists and patriots.
