The General Staff informs that the Ukrainian Armed Forces repulsed more than half a dozen enemy assaults over the day.

In the Kherson region, the Ukrainian troops are conducting a counter-offensive in the directions of three villages, the Kherson city council reports.

"Ukrainian forces are carrying out a counter-offensive in the directions of Kyselivka, Soldatske, and Oleksandrivka of the Kherson region. The village Tavriiske is fully under the control of Ukraine," – the city council writes.

The head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai called the russian propaganda reports about around 400 Ukrainian troops being blocked at the "Azot" plant in Sievierodonetsk a fake.

"The information of the "Azot" plant being blocked is a lie spread by russian propagandists. All the other details are a sick fantasy. Our troops are holding the industrial zone of Sievierodonetsk and destroying the russian army in the city," – Haidai wrote on Telegram.

Previously, the "LPR" "ambassador to russia" Rodion Miroshnik reported the alleged blocking of the "Azot" plant in Sievierodonetsk.

Because of the hostilities, the northern part of the Donetsk region was de-energized, in particular, the Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts.

According to the Donetsk RMA Pavlo Kyrylenko, the enemy shellings damaged power lines in the area of Toretsk, which caused the switching off of NCP Ukrenergo's substations in the region.

On Saturday evening, the air raid sirens went off in most of Ukraine's regions. Unfortunately, it was not without "arrivals" [strikes – tr.]. The head of the Ternopil RMA Volodymyr Tunish confirmed explosions on Chortkiv. According to him, in Chortkiv the local authorities cut off the natural gas supply during the explosion consequences’ elimination.

Ukraine together with its G7 partners is preparing a document on the security guarantees for our countries, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his online speech during the Shangri La Dialogue security summit.

"Now we are preparing a document with our allies in the G7 group to determine how they can help our people to live without fear," – Zelenskyy stated.

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen visited Ukraine for the second time since the war started.

After meeting Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the government head Denys Shmyhal, Ursula von der Leyen reported that the European Commission was preparing its recommendation for the EU member states.

"My discussions today with Zelenskyy and Shmyhal will enable us to finalize our assessment. The path is known. I appreciate the efforts and determination of Ukraine in this process," – she wrote on Twitter.

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk reported that Germany plans to supply Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to Ukraine on around 22 June. 

Despite its promises, Germany has yet to provide Ukraine with a single unit of heavy equipment.

And in October, Ukraine will receive the most modern German air defence system IRIS-T which can cover territory as large as Kyiv.

IRIS-T is an infrared self-guided rocket. There are two IRIS-T versions of surface-to-air missiles for air defence: short-range IRIS-T SLS and medium-range IRIS-T SLM. Their maximum range is 40 kilometers, height is 20 kilometers.

Despite the war, Ukraine got a unique chance to implement a centralized heating system, minimizing gas usage in favor of electricity.

Ex-vice president of "Gazprombank", one of the biggest rf's banks, Ihor Volobuyev joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Volobuyev will serve in a "Russia's Freedom Legion" unit.

"Guys from russia, if you hate Putin's regime and want russia to become a free, democratic country – join us!" – Volobuyev urged on his Telegram channel.

Yermak mentioned that the Ukrainian fighters are putting off the fires but the "food terrorism" must be stopped.

Meanwhile, in the recently occupied territories, the russian invaders hastily set up a railway to take 650 tonnes of stolen grain to the rf from the Starobilsk elevator.

"The same with butter, sausages, and cheeses from the occupied districts of the Luhansk region – they will now be eaten in Yakutia and Krasnoyarsk. One might say that they will finally at least taste some normal sausages over there but in reality, the conclusions are quite cheerless as it's obvious that the occupiers don't care at all what the population of the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk region will eat," – the Luhansk RMA mentioned.

In support of Ukraine, the Belarussian writer Svetlana Alexievich gave her award for the freedom of speech Jiří Theiner received at the Prague book fair to Ukrainian authors Kateryna Mikhalitsyna and Yevheniia Kononenko. The writer couldn't come to the awarding ceremony because of a disease.

"I want to say that the Ukrainian delegation of writers who represent a brave country which we all admire and believe in its victory is worthy of a Jiří Theiner's award. Ukraine is at the frontline of a fight against evil. It [Ukraine – tr.] must know we stand with it," – Alexievich stressed.
