Parliament dismisses SBU chief Ivan Bakanov

Parliament has dismissed Ivan Bakanov as chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with 265 votes, Voice faction MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak has told

Ex-President Petro Poroshenko's European Solidarity and the Voice did not support the decision.

The appointment of a new SBU chief is not on the agenda yet.

Yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Vasyl Malyuk as SBU acting chief. Earlier, Zelenskyy suspended Bakanov and Prosecutor-General Iryna Venediktova over multiple instances of their employees' collaboration with the russians.
