A Russian fighter jet has been shot down near Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Region, the Ukrainian Air Force has said.
"Around 8 p.m. on 19 July, an air defence unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Air Force shot down a Russian fighter jet, presumably a Su-35, in the area of Nova Kakhovka. The fighter was trying to attack the Ukrainian Air Force's attack aircraft," the military said.
The command added that there was visual confirmation of the downing. The russian pilot ejected.
During the day, the air defence shot down five enemy operational-tactical UAVs.
