In Donetsk Region alone, the invaders have taken 108 children deprived of parental care to Russia, ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has said.

"Children aged from 5 to 16 years have been 'placed' with foster russian families. On 14 July, 32 children were placed with russian families in Moscow, Moscow Region, Voronezh Region, Kaluga Region, Tula Region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region. Thirteen children were taken to Russia from Donetsk, Shakhtarsk and Makiyivka. Another 19 children were deported to the russian federation earlier," Lubinets said.

He said that before the children are "distributed" among different regions of Russia, they are brought to Moscow to meet their "foster parents".

"The russians call it evacuation, passing off their criminal actions as noble deeds to save Ukrainian children. To speed up the 'process of appropriation' of young Ukrainian citizens, Ukrainian orphans are being granted russian citizenship under a 'simplified procedure' in line with a russian presidential decree," the ombudsman added.

He said that he reported his findings to the Prosecutor-General's Office to take action.
