Ukraine has been 100% open to full monitoring and control over the supply and use of weapons from day one, the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andriy Yermak, has said at a briefing, an LB.ua correspondent reports.
"As for the control (over arms supplies), you know that we have had the president and the entire team saying from day one that we stand for 100% transparency of control, monitoring of all technical assistance that we receive from our partners. And that makes perfect sense. If our partners help us, they want to see how it is used. Indeed, it is very important for us that all our partners feel part of our future victories," he stated.
He noted that specific mechanisms for such monitoring are now in place. The presidential office constantly holds briefings foreign partners, particularly for the USA and the UK, where not only information about the military situation is reported, but also about the use of all the aid.
Yermak recalled that parliament supported the initiative to create an appropriate ad hoc commission consisting of representatives of all factions. The commission has already had several meetings together with representatives of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry. There will also be online briefings for the US Congress Committee on National Security and other parliaments.
"Because Ukraine's position from day one is absolutely clear. We defend ourselves, our country and our land. Secondly, we want and have broken the image that unfortunately our country had in the past years when partners did not get the information they needed. We are for 100% trustful relationship. A relationship of truly strategic partners. Today, we have already heard from many of our partners, leaders of the countries that there are 'zero' questions to Ukraine today. And this shows that the current mechanism (of control) is truly real."
According to him, work on the supply of new weapons from partners is constantly ongoing.
"It does not stop. 24/7. And it is indeed a very challenging work. Because we have completely changed the equipment, which was one before the war, and today it is completely different. And this work is ongoing. We have a complete and 100% understanding with our partners. And we are going to our victory," he said.
