Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Headquarters on Tuesday. The meeting was held in person, but some participants joined online, according to a statement on the president's website.
Participating in the meeting in person were Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov and his deputy Rostyslav Zamlynskyy, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, Chief of the General Staff Serhiy Shaptala, Commander of the National Guard Yuriy Lebed, acting Security Service of Ukraine chief Vasyl Malyuk, Special Operations Force Commander Viktor Khorenko, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyy, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov, National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, and Interior Minister Oleksiy Kozlov.
The commander of the Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyy, the troops commander of the Operational Command West, Serhiy Litvinov, and the troops commander of the Operational Command South, Andriy Kovalchuk, joined the meeting by video link.
"The reports of the commanders of the troops of the operational areas on the active actions of the defence forces to liberate Ukraine from the Russian occupiers were heard. It was noted that as a result of the offensive operation, more than 4,000 sq km of territory and more than 300 settlements have been de-occupied and stabilisation measures have already been implemented in them. The operation is ongoing. The Ukrainian president has instructed the State Border Service to ensure protection of the state border in the liberated territories," the statement reads.
The participants also considered the draft budget of the security and defence sector for 2023. According to Zelenskyy, the total amount of Ukraine's defence budget for next year is tentatively over 1,000bn hryvnyas.
