The russian army shelled the industrial zone of the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant last night. The missile fell 300 meters away from the reactors.
The hit caused a powerful explosion, the shock wave damaged the NPP building, and more than 100 windows were broken, Enerhoatom states on Telegram.
"One of the hydroelectric units of the Oleksandrivska HPP, which is part of the South Ukrainian energy complex, has been shut down. Three high-voltage power lines have also been disconnected," the statement said.
Currently, all three power units of NPP are operating in normal mode. Fortunately, there have been no casualties among the plant personnel.
"Acts of nuclear terrorism by russians threaten the whole world. They must be stopped immediately to prevent a new catastrophe!", Enerhoatom stressed.
South Ukrainian NPP is located in Mykolaiv Region.
Russia also used nuclear terrorism with Chornobyl NPP when it deployed its military base there.
Russia continues to threaten nuclear catastrophe with Zaporizhzhya NPP - the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. The enemy fired at it and around it from various weapons, even from tanks. Moreover, the occupants deployed heavy weapons directly on the nuclear power plant premises.
