A collaborator, former Party of Regions MP Oleksiy Zhuravko got killed in Kherson, local occupiers have claimed, as reported by the Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne.

The Kremlin media said he and another person were killed in an explosion in a Kherson hotel.

Zhuravko was a people's deputy of the 5th and 6th convocations. In the 2012 elections, he failed to get elected to parliament. Since 2015 he had been hiding in Russia.

He is a native of Dnipropetrovsk Region.

On 23 September, he published a photo in a Z-t-shirt from the so-called polling station of the Russia-masterminded pseudo-referendum. He voted for the illegal accession of Kherson Region to Russia.

Zhuravko was suspected of financing terrorism and was hiding from Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
