President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed a new head of the department for the protection of national statehood at the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
is stated in the relevant presidential decree.
The new head of the department is Roman Semenchenko, the commissioner for control over the SBU activities.
Semenchenko began his career in the SBU in 1993. For two years, he held the position of deputy head of the SBU directorate in Dnipropetrovsk Region. In 2013, he was appointed head of the SBU directorate in Zhytomyr Region.
After 11 October 2019, Semenchenko served as the presidential commissioner for control over the SBU activities.
